I like...everything

I'm way too lazy to give you a source for this one, but I know JK Rowling once said she didn't have any hobbies, other than reading and writing.

So I'm kinda jealous.

As nice as it is to have something else to focus on when you just can't write anymore, my problem is that I like lots of things. And there is never enough time to do it all. I've decided I'm going to focus on writing novels for the next few years at least, but that means I have to give up some other things I love. If you're a regular follower, you know I'm a music nerd. And that I sew, at least since I bought the shiny new machine. In fact, I just bought some fabric today to make these cute little onesie dresses I found on a blog.

Yes, I'm whining. I'm really lucky to be able to stay home to try to fit all these hobbies into my life. But I'm looking forward to the year 2014 when Baby M will be in school, and maybe I'll have more time for: learning web design, swimming, scrapbooking, more sewing, volunteering, actually doing something about the social issues that matter to me, freelance writing (for magazines and businesses)...

What about you? Are you a multi-hobby monster like me or is one hobby enough to keep you busy?

I never think of the things I do as hobbies until I'm asked about it. Occasionally, yoga is a hobby. Bike riding and taking nature walks is something I like to do. Writing is a passion. Reading is a close second. I love spending time with my children.

okay, those dresses are totally cute!!! I'm getting a sewing machine so that I can learn to sew and hopefully I could make something like that down the line.....um, even if I don't have any babies by then. :) life will someday slow down. I'm learning that our lives have different phases, as you obviously know. but you'll get there! and be able to do all that stuff (which is GReAT, bytheway!).

No multi-tasking hobbier here! Knitting is probably my only real hobby. Reading I count as part of my job as a writer. Cooking & gardening? Not hobbies-they're work!

I scrapbook, I garden, I write, I have horses, I volunteer, road trips, canning, and now, sewing. Oh yeah, and I love to read romance and write it.

I never have time either. My scrapbooks are woefully behind, and in summer, gardening takes over our lives.

*sigh* I so feel your dilemma!

I think it is great that your going to focus on writing novels! Those dresses are so sweet! Writing is my one and only. It is the one thing I'm consistent with.

That's awesome. It means you're well balanced. I like a few things, but reading and writing are number one. When the sun comes out, I love to boat and ski, though. So I'm coming into my "non-writing" season. :)

I am completely a multi hobby monster. When I was a kid and I would order some big dish at a restaurant that I couldn't hope to finish my parents would say my eyes were bigger than my stomach. That's what I feel like some days, except now instead of my stomach it's my days that aren't quite big enough to do all I want to do.

Not only an I like you, but I love all the things you listed! There's never enough time in the day to satisfy all my hobby cravings. It also makes it hard to finish a project.

Ugh, hobbies. I'm not sure I have time for another 'hobby' besides blogging!
